Class Descriptions:

Level 1 (Intro)
This is a rigorous introductory class for beginners and those new to the Iyengar methodology. A level one class introduces the individual to the basics of alignment, balance, strength and lays the foundation for the continuing classes. Shoulder stand (salamba sarvangasana) will be introduced.

Level 1-2
This class is designed as a continuing class and a variety of standing poses, forward bends, twists, beginning backbends, variations of Salamba Sarvangasana, and preparatory Pranayama will be taught. These foundational poses will continue to strengthen and challenge each student.

Level 2
This is a continuing class and builds upon the foundation learned in level 1. The next level of standing poses, forward bends, twists, back bends and headstand (sirsasana) is introduced.

Level 2-3
Intermediate Iyengar yoga students with at least 6 months of study. Inversions such as headstand and handstand will be taught and backbends progress. Permission required by instructor.

Level 3
Continuing students with at least one year of experience. Inversions are done with ease at the wall and held for a longer duration and deeper backbending is introduced such as Dwipada Viparita Dandasana. A personal practice is required and permission be the instructor.

Rise and Shine
An early morning class sure to get you going! Standing poses, twists, forward bends and beginning backbends to start your day! Healthy beginners welcome!

Sun Salutations
Also known as Surya Namaskar, is a sequential set of flowing poses taught with the awareness of the breath. They warm and tone the body, and build strength and flexibility. This practice is rigorous and fast paced. Please no injuries.

Gentle Class
A beginning supported class for those new to yoga and who might also benefit from a slower pace. The poses are supported by using the wall, ropes, bricks, chairs and blankets.


Teen Yoga
Yoga is so important and especially for the teens to develop strength, focus and balance in all areas of their lives. I will design a class to meet your teen's needs. Please call Debra at 708 205 4489 for more information.
